Not many of these left...

On March 7, I decided to go for a little road trip. I ended up chasing a UP freight from Woodland Junction to Sidney, IL (pics not on the web for now).

I then headed into Champaign-Urbana to check things out, as I went to school there about sixteen years ago. Wonder of wonders, the old semaphore on the ex-Peoria & Eastern line in Urbana was still standing!

I wonder how many others are left in Illinois?

I know the BRW has a pair..... Non-operable..

NJLS has one.. doesnt work except for the lights.

Last I checked, the BNSF line through Raton Pass and Wagon Mound, NM had Semaphores with a few wig-wags. Neat to see a train blast downhill and 75!
