I watched that same train head East through South Fork, Pa MP 266 that same day...The NS Engines are SD40-2 helpers that normally stay captive between Altoona and Wilmerding, and sometimes as far West as Pittsburgh. The helper units probably would get added on to a Westbound freight to get them back to home territory.
