Wow............ Twenty years seemed hard to believe in 2007. Here we are today, 35 years later. Still some of the most vivid memories of my youth: triple-header E8s roaring through South Amboy on the NJCL. Those were the days.

Speaking of Sept 11, 1987, it was also another anniversary. At the Pine Creek RR at Allaire, the Irish engine Lady Edith celebrated her 100th birthday. It was part of the annual Railroaders Day event. Assemblyman Frank Pallone was on hand to read a proclamation from the state recognizing Sept 11 as Lady Edith Day. as she ran for the entire day under her own power, under a fresh coat of paint.

Not the biggest event in history, but it was a big deal for us.
