4139 is only used for M.O.W. i'm assuming 4138 and 4141 are dead because they are in the MMC
When 4139 kicks the bucket, what will be its replacement? A MP20 switcher? Or other 4100/4200 GP40s?

4218 is now also on the deadline, parked between 4138 and 4127. 4911 is also on the line...

4911 on the line???? So MTA is retiring this engine???? Very interesting!

I highly doubt it, since it's essentially new. It probably just needs to be setup for service and was put on the line so as to be out of the way until time for the setup is available.

Other than that guess, I have no idea; I just posted it as an observation.

None of those diesels are offically retired. They are "Long Term Diesels" and they are stored out of service. The 4205 and 4213 were long term diesels for a long time, and now are back out and looking great!

As for the 4911, it has some issues. Lets just say that it probably left for rebuild in better shape than its in now.

Think of it as.......a big paperweight? Sure, lets go with that! One of the requirements of a diesel to be in revenue service on NJT is that it needs to.....RUN! 4911 doesn't seem to want to do that.

Wait, so it's not supposed to just be a shiny new decoration? It definitely added a nice touch to the deadline! :-)

As for "Long Term Diesels," is there any "official" list (such as from the employee paperwork)? As far as we outsiders know, the deadline consists of:
4127
4136
4138
4141
4142
4218

Anything else?

Nah you got them all as far as I know!

Other than the leased F40s/FHs up in Canada.

No, NJT didn't forget about them - they know they are up there hahaha

...So much for a two year lease... Guess we'll never be seeing them in service here again!

Also, here's the 4911, 4127, 4218, and 4138 in the deadline today:

I was doing one of my Trainz sessions and had 4117 on my train from Temple University to Lansdale. 4118 has been running on the Newtown Line. ;-)

In Hoboken I've seen 4301 and 4105 hooked up to the AQUA train.

Yes 4205 does look good, just don't get it too wet in the wash at the MMC or you won't be able to get above 50 MPH - that was a fun day...

Which units are still up there?

None. All are back in NJ, but OOS. 4117, 4118, and 4135 in the Garwood storage line, and 4137, 4140, 4143, and 4144 at the MMC.

Little typo there, you got 4140 in there twice. By any chance is the 4135 the second 4140?
