NEWARK, NJ – NJ TRANSIT is providing rail customers with additional weekend travel options at five stations beginning Sunday, November 8th. Customers at Garwood, Avenel, North Elizabeth, Teterboro and Woodcliff Lake will have additional trains stopping at their stations on weekends as part of NJ TRANSIT’s fall rail schedule adjustments. Both weekend and weekday customers at all stations are encouraged to check the new schedules at njtransit.com for other adjustments.


“We’re pleased to be able to offer this additional weekend travel flexibility for our rail customers served by these five stations,” said NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kevin Corbett. “As customers continue to return to our system, we are committed to staying ahead of demand to maximize the opportunity for distancing, while we continue to work hard every day to provide the cleanest and safest travel environment for both customers and employees.”


The schedule changes are as follows:

Raritan Valley Line: All regular weekend trains will now serve Garwood Station.

This increases service from 2 eastbound and 3 westbound stops per weekend day, to 18 in each direction.
With the exception of the last eastbound train at 12:11 a.m., Newark-bound trains stop hourly from 6:50 a.m. until 10:50 p.m.
With the exception of the last westbound train at 1:47 a.m., Raritan-bound trains stop hourly from 7:58 a.m. until 11:58 p.m.


North Jersey Coast Line: Avenel will be served by 2 additional morning eastbound trains, and 3 additional afternoon westbound trains.

Morning (To New York): Train 7208 will stop at 6:53 a.m., and Train 7216 will stop at 8:53 a.m. In combination with existing stops, the new stops provide hourly morning service to PSNY from 5:47 a.m. until 9:55 a.m. inclusive.
Afternoon (From New York): Train 7253 will stop at 3:50 p.m., Train 7261 will stop at 5:50 p.m., and Train 7269 will stop at 7:50 p.m. In combination with existing stops, the new stops provide hourly afternoon service departing PSNY from 2:07 p.m. until 8:07 p.m. inclusive.


Northeast Corridor Line: North Elizabeth will be served by 1 additional morning eastbound train, and two additional morning westbound trains.

Morning (To New York): Train 7208 will stop at 7:12 a.m. In combination with existing stops, the new stop provides hourly morning service to PSNY.
Morning (From New York): Trains 7221 will stop at 7:34 a.m., and Train 7229 will stop at 9:34 a.m. In combination with existing stops, the new stops provide hourly morning reverse commute service between 5:37 a.m. and 10:34 a.m. inclusive.


Pascack Valley Line: 8 eastbound and 9 westbound trains will add stops at both Teterboro and Woodcliff Lake stations. Please note that the following excludes New York State express trains operated on behalf of Metro North Railroad:



To Hoboken:

At Woodcliff Lake, all NJ TRANSIT local service trains beginning with Train 2100 at 6:19 a.m. through Train 2118 at 4:22 p.m., will stop. Check timetables for exact times of specific intermediate trains. Additionally, Train 2126 will stop at 8:30 p.m.
At Teterboro, all NJ TRANSIT local service trains beginning with Train 2100 at 6:49 a.m. through Train 2118 at 4:54 p.m., will stop. Check timetables for exact times of specific intermediate trains. Additionally, Train 2126 will stop at
8:59 p.m.


From Hoboken:

All NJ TRANSIT local train service will make station stops at Woodcliff Lake and Teterboro. Please check timetables effective November 8 for exact times.
