There is a new warehouse under condtruction just South of the WalMart on S. Columbus Blvd. They are laying track from the street into the building similar to the building next door. They have not cut into the main (Phila Belt Line?) at this time. If I get by again I'll get some photos to post.

Isn't that the new building for ROTEM, aka the company building the new SEPTA Silverliner V's?

Its funny and now I feel like an idiot. I went down the shore for the day and i decided to drive down Delaware Ave to see this spur and while driving down I was not paying attention. Im not so sure that it will be for Rotem unless they changed there policy for the delivery that they originally talked about months ago. Originally the cars when fully assembled will be trucked to Wayne Electric. It could very well be shipped by rail. Why not? It only makes sense. Will see what happens. Also Im not sure they would be building something new in terms of a building for Rotem since they are suppose to be using an old warehouse. Its very possible that its just a new industry and thats definately refreshing news since that whole area is choking with Yuppies, there cars and all there shops and resteraunts and shops.

The new Rotem USA plant is at 2400 Weccacoe Avenue(between Oregon Ave and Snyder). It is an existing building next to UPS on Oregon Avenue/behind Ikea. The tracks run behind the building so I doubt a new spur on Columbus Blvd would be for this plant. Along with Septa's order for EMU's, they will be manufacturing rail cars for Metrolink and MBTA. This should keep that plant busy for quite sometime.

8-24-2010-8am driving on Columbus Blvd and saw the local finishing up. Refrigerateds probably going to Food Distribution Center next to I95 South at Pattison, rest going to Yard using tracks behind Rotem. One of those fortunate times to have a camera. Enjoy
