I don't recall having difficulty explaining the peak/off peak concept to customers. It's around seven years since we had that, and I still have an occasional customer, who hasn't ridden our trains in a while, ask if fares are cheaper after rush hour.
I read a suggestion somewhere that peak and off peak fare be brought back.
