If you do, you're in luck: Kansas City Southern de Mexico has several of them for sale. A few are C30-S7R, which I believe were built from U30C cores; the rest are C30-S7N, which if I'm not mistaken were the ones that were built new from the ground up.

These units were (re) built in about 1990 or 1991 (from Super 7 production dates in McDonnell's Field Guide to modern diesels), so they have reached the age at which big North American railroads have often retired their big GE diesels. My guess is that if all or some of them are sold for further use, it will more likely be SOUTH of Mexico than NORTH of it.

(There was a final N de M Super 7 order in 1994 -- for "CMP30" units with microprocessor controls-- but I'm guessing from the 14500-series N de M road numbers that these are from the earlier build.)

Agree with you about the south of Mexico part, although I can think of two or three U.S. shortlines/regionals that might be interested... ones that are still running U-Boats, for instance.
