They were taken on a recent MOD FanTrip. These are held several times a year and the proceeds go to benefit the March of Dimes.

The next trips:

Sunday, May 1, 2005

"The "Train of Many Colors" (seen in Railpace in the January 2005 issue) will be operating throughout the IRT Division of the NY Subway. Special train leaves Grand Central, Shuttle Track #1 at 10:30 a.m. This time the Multicolor train will feature cars R33-9327 and R22-7371, on their last NYC trips before heading off to Seashore Trolley Museum in Maine.

Join in and support the March of Dimes. Fares are $40 per trip for adults and $20 per trip for children under 13 available for purchase on the day of the trip -- no advance sales. In the event of equipment problems, other equipment may be substituted. Changes to the route of the excursion trains may be made as need due to extraordinary conditions. For any additional information, please call 347-643-5310. "

As an F Y I the train of many colors is SMEE cars (IRT cars from the 1950's and 1960's) which have been repainted in the various colors that the TA/MTA used over the years.

These trips are usually well attended so if you decide to go to one (or many), expect a lot of people, These trips usually last all day and sometimes into the early evening hours.
