I'm so glad you mentioned 158! It was just spotted few hours earlier today leading a CE move from Port Jefferson Station to Morris Park with DM30AC 521.

I was just able to get my camera out in time, and this is all I have of the move: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgpWRPNO8g8

Pretty sure MP15AC 158 is still in Port Jeff from last night. DM30AC 513 pulled it out to the yard yesterday and later on “put the hog in the barn.” If it is still there, it’s most likely going to bring something else back from the yard sometime this week

Two MP15ACs (can't get the numbers) were just spotted leading an eastbound tie train on the Port Jefferson Branch. This train was spotted moving past Greenlawn about 25-30 minutes ago. Does anyone know if there's supposed to be any trackwork on the Port Jeff Branch? The last tie train on this branch was back in late August, so I'm not sure why it's traveling on that branch again.

Around 11:45 today I saw what must have been the same train of flat cars with concrete ties on the Central Branch headed toward "B" tower. Can't be two trains carrying concrete ties on the same day ?

Around 1:30 pm today, I saw 2 MP15ACs pulling about a half dozen CSX gondolas westbound off the Garden City-Mitchell Field Secondary.

#157 was towing NYA 101 last night to Pine-Aire from Richmond Hill.

So 150 and 171 ran lite to Port Jeff last night, and only picked up one empty flatbed, leaving twenty or so full flatbeds at Port Jeff. Why would the LIRR send out two MP15s to pick up one flatbed? Could they be coming back for more by any chance?

Earlier today, 167 travelled to Port Jefferson to pick up 409 and a full set. I was able to catch it arriving into Port Jeff (with a local only a few minutes behind the MP15) but not with 409 and the set. I also apologize if the camera blurs at some parts, as I was having technical difficulties and was trying to fix it.

I guess the two south-side tracks don't get much, if any use??? And isn't there a wye and a lumber yard that was once served by the LIRR and then the NYA there, too???

Nowadays, the two side tracks are used to store flatbeds for track work if there isn't enough room on the other 4 tracks west of 112. The wye is still used on occasion, and the lumber yard was served by NYAR until 2007, probably due to speed and weight limits for certain freight cars past Huntington.
