:P :D Morristown & Erie #4228 arrived at Rigby Yard in S.Portland ladt night, and this AM,was the subject of quite a few photographs by "fans". It was tied to ST GP-35 #204,for the trip to interchange with the Maine eastern at Brunswick. Great looking unit. Bud

Did anyone get pictures? Please post them. Where will all these locomotives be kept? I hope to get up there in August.

Anyone of authority care to comment on why the 4228 is lettered for Morristown & Erie vs. Maine Eastern? Is this particular unit on temporary assignment in Maine? Any plans tpo get a freight engine(s) lettered and or painted for Maine Eastern?

The F40 scheme is amazing..especially considering the complete lack of pride most railroads show these days. Hats off to them!

The 4228 is still in its red M&E scheme, but has a couple of small ,yellow "ME" logos.

The logos on the 4228 are the normal Morristown & Erie logos, not Maine Eastern logos. The Maine Eastern logo has a pine tree in the center of the diamond, similar to the old Maine Central logo. Check out pictures of the F40s and passenger equipment to see the Maine Eastern logo.
