Pretty sure both the 8569 and 8592 have been torched.
The only two units in full MMA paint. Sort of symbolic in a way...

Thanks...would appreciate any further sightings, confirmations...

Five units reportedly sold to B&S Scrap Recycling of Hudson, Maine (2 B39's & 3 C30's).
I guess those two B39's you mentioned as "torched" were them?!

Yes, they (the 2 MMA painted units 8569/92) were sold to the place in Hudson. Believe they have been cut up, know they will be if not yet.

Hello everyone,

I am wondering what the status is on the 3 C39-8s the MMA accquired from Pennsylvania Northeastern . I know the 8202 and 8208 are still up for sale , but seems like 8207 is gone. I assume it was scrapped because it was inoperable. As far as 8202 and 8208, I was also curious where they were being stored pending sale (for pictures)

Thanks,
Chris

Really sad to see that handsomely painted MM&A unit being scrapped but at least it met its fate just off the former MM&A main in Hudson, Maine. A very nice collection of photos and thanks for posting.

2 C39-8's are listed on the Sterling Rail page as for sale at the clearance price of $150,000. Listed as in Maine, my guess Derby.

The 2000 and 3603 arrived at Silvis 12/15/14. The 3614 on 12/22/14.

Other the SLC 270 up at CAD in Montreal, all the LTEX purchases still show
"waybill reported" at Derby.

Anyone got any updates?

I see the ex-MMA/CN SD40-2 5374 now shows at Northern Maine Jct CMQ today as LTEX 5374.
This unit was rumored to be going to PAR.

Any updates on the remaining auction units at Derby?

I show:
CDAC 450,
Railworld Test Bed (ex-Amtrak 273)
5016, 5018,5023,5026
8202, 8207 & 8208
8525, 8578,8583

All are LTEX buys except the RW test Bed(?).

5017 still in legal limbo?

Any one know the fate of the 8544? (I show it OS Fall 2001) and it wasn't part of the auction.

Thanks

Dave

A year after the auction......what's left at Derby? Recent moves may indicate a general cleanup there. What's been sold/ scrapped/moved, both locos and cars? Thanks....
