The Montreal Maine & Atlantic railway (MMA) recently appointed a new senior manager to Sales and Marketing in the Quebec and Northern Vermont regions. Christophe Journet will take control of the sales and marketing in this section of the railroad on July 7th.

Despite a struggling business climate in both Maine and Quebec, the western half of the railroad seems to be growing. The MMA, who in August of 2009 filed to abandon 241 miles of track in Northern Maine, is showing increased carloads in Quebec.

Joe McGonigle VP Sales and Marketing commented with, "Our business in Quebec is growing, despite a soft economy."

Mr. Journet has more than 15 years of experience primarily in logistics and food service in Canada and France. He holds an MBA from UQAM (Universit du Qubec Montral).
