Hello everyone,

I am looking to learn more about the Midland Central Railway. I have searched many websites, most of them seem very out of date.

I know it is now leased by Progressive Rail from Ameren. I also know the trains they run can only go as far as Union.

Where does the MCR start on the east end and to which track does it connect to? TRAA?

Also, did Ameren actually give up part of the line to the state as a Kansas City connection to the Katy Trail? I could not see them doing that since the reason they have the line is supposedly so U.P. doesn't overcharge them for coal at Labadie with the risk of another railroad being able to serve their power plant directly.

Are there still any plans to reopen this line completely? I know it would be quite the undertaking as it would require the rebuilding of track between Union and Pleasant Hill as well as new bridges and crossings.

Any information you can provide would be great, thanks in advance!
