The Michigan Star Clipper dinner train that operates out of Walled Lake, Michigan, will be going out of business. The train has been in operation for the last 24 years in western Oakland County, which is located northwest of downtown Detroit. However, majority owner Allen Brown, has decided to move the operation to a yet to be determined east coast location. Likewise, Brown has decided to relocate the "Walled Lake Express," a sister train operation to the Traverse City, Michigan area.

Brown hopes to move the Star Clipper to what he termed a destination location on the East Coast with a steady stream of tourists, and he's negotiating with Michigan tourism officials to move its sister train, the Walled Lake Express, to the Traverse City area to run scenic wine-tasting and entertainment tours there. The Walled Lake Express features cars dating from the 1920s and offers guests scenic rides and entertainment including strolling musicians.
"It's sad, but that's just the way it is," Brown said. "We're making a business decision."
So this is the operation that uses the F unit decorated as pseudo EL? Wonder where on the East Coast they are going to go...

Yes it is. I heard they are going to the New England area. However, my source can't confirm that 100 percent at this time.

Maybe they're going to get involved with the new Downeast Scenic Railroad... or some other existing operation, like the Hobo or the Winnepesaukee...
