The two GP20s left recently. Wish I knew what CSX/NS train they left on out of Oak Island.

Speaking of GP20s they’ll soon be putting the 701 back in service. Anyone on here ever see that engine run? It’s a VERY strange engine.

They left on M405 and are supposedly going to Mexico.

I was able to see 701 running once.

The few videos of it I have seen have me wondering what exactly has been done to this engine over the years. I don’t hear a turbocharger in any of the videos so this thing might be one of those weird derated engines. Have also never seen an old cut nose engine where the nose slopes down so sharply.

I didn’t know where else to post this question. I was in Edison the other day and was driving down vineyard road heading towards rt 27. I crossed the old siding that runs in back of the new Amazon warehouse and noticed someone has cleared the forest of trees and brush. The right of way is cleared both ways. You can actually see the rails. I know Amazon doesn’t use rail service? I don’t think anything else is around that would use it. Maybe they are just lifting the rails? Anyone have a comment?

That's the Miracle Run Branch I believe. Raritan Central has been using it for railcar storage. Mainly for plastics hoppers. I'm not sure how much of it is being used though.

Just curious, does anyone still go see ME-2 these days? Saw it on the Millstone Branch 2 weeks ago with CSX 6160.

They run Monday - Friday. I think they're on duty 8AM - 8PM based on how they've needed to rush to finish on the NEC before 8PM. They'll come out on the NEC usually between 11AM and 2PM and come back after 5:30PM.

On the NEC they service these sidings or branches: National Can, General Tire, MIllstone Branch, Delco and occasionally Deans.

Don't know what engine they have right now but I think they got a different one a few weeks ago. Since the engine they have is the same day-to-day Amtrak appears to already have the information so it's never announced. OI-32 (JR-08 on Sundays) can deliver/swap engines.

All eyes on the caboose (22137) in December - I'll try to spread the word if I get something about the Santa train. Last year it ran over the Lehigh, Port Reading and Garden State. OI-32 presumably picked up the caboose the night before and moved it to Oak Island.

So they do still go to Dean's! They should still have 6160. I usually go see it on Fridays since they almost always go down the Delco that day, and I can see amtrak on top of it. They will go to the Millstone Branch on Tuesday to turn around if they have to.

4451 as of last week

They needed Rule 241 permission to pass stop signal when they came back on Wednesday night, November 28th, and part of getting that permission is stating the engine number.
