Water is dense enough that I believe you hit the weight limit of a two axle 53' dry van before you do the capacity by volume. So rather than pay more for equipment and not be able to fill it, why not get cheaper equipment and maximize its useage. The same philosophy holds for wells. They cost more because the equipment has a much higher demand. While spines have fallen from the forefront of intermodal transportation. Which makes them cheap. And doublestack isn't even on the horizon for Maine. So they aren't going to pay for equipment that provides more capacity than the service needs. Now, if they can make the service work, and can market somethign to the mills or Hunt, you might see some 53' equipment come up, but the water will almost certainly stay in 40'ers on spines.
