MBB Overhaul

I didn’t know that but they haven’t been overhauled lately unlike the others which is why I said that. Thanks for pointing out the information.

Car 540 is now in testing. It is the former control coach 1502.

540 was spotted on a CSX freight train (Q410) in Ridgefield Park, NJ. Looks like it’s coming back.

540 has been back for a while now. You mean 541, 2, or 3 right?

It's appears the photo on Facebook from yesterday or Saturday of it in transit in N.J. wasn't dated at all and with little info. So that's where the confusion is from.

Nope, they did indeed mean 540.
I had to couple up to that coach to drop a shop car in front of it at Manville on Saturday (early March 13th). When my conductor came back up, I went back and took a look at it. Looking pretty good, though I was surprised they kept the numberboards on the car instead of plating or painting it over.

So why was it listed as in testing this whole time? Looking good from former coach 1502 and it looks weird with the blind number on a number board instead of the usual 4 digit control coach.

Probably an error on NE Transits' part. Maybe heard it was released and assumed it came back quicker than they thought?

MBTX 519 is next to return.

This one snuck up on us... Rochester did a 5th MBB rebuild. The 536 was just finished and is in the SCR wrap. The 536 was originally 1521

That’s actually the 4th then. Only 3 ctc’s were rebuilt from Rochester which are 533-1517, 534-1503, and 535-1515.

Remember 520 that was the only BTC-3 they did

I wasn’t including 520 when I said 4. I meant in terms of the control trailer coaches being rebuilt to blinds. I’m well aware that it was 5 total with 520.
