What kind of material are the resistors for the dynamic brake made of? Cast iron? Photos?

The material I've seen used for MU cars is a flat metalic ribbon ( ni-chrome wire ?) wrapped around a insulated core which seperates and supports it. The resistors are grouped together in "banks" and connected in various configurations to provide the desired resistance. (Less than 3 ohms)
