This is a question to all on the list. I am getting conflicting information as to the start up date for the Grand Elk. March 9 (on website) and April 1 from several sources, including the local paper on Wed. Can someone please give some official word, which will be printed on the Grand Elk Railfans Website http://grandelkrailfans.weebly.com Also, there is a message board for you to talk about operations or ask/share information of one another. A photo page will be coming
Now, #2. Supposing the day will be 3/9, how many of you will be making plans to host railfan steak outs/watches on that day up and along the line. Post that here and on the above mentioned website.
NOTE: I AM WANTING TO FIND OUT HOW MANY MEMBERS OF THIS LIST WOULD BE INTERESTED IN A FORMAL RAILFAN GATHERING IN VARIOUS SECTIONS OF THE LINE ON DAY 1. THIS CAN BE DONE AS A JOINT ACTIVITY WITH THE LAKESHORE RR HISTORICAL FOUNDATION.
Anyone know what their great paintjob is going to look like? The Elkhart Truth says it will be a neat color scheme.
