Most of us know that 252 was the lead engine to pull the last (though not the last train, symbolicly it was) regular scheduled freight train through Crawford Notch on September 3, 1983. I saw a picture (1986?) of 252 on the Calais Branch working clean up on what was the last train on the Calais Branch. Was this by chance or was they're a reason 252 was used to close two lines? Are there anyothers?
It takes real skill to choke on air, fall up the stairs and trip over nothing. I have those skills.
