Last night, the first LOSA ran to Everett with MEC 307 & 19 empties. Assume all 19 cars
are for the dirty dirt business due to the Wynn Casino project in Everett.

LOSA will probably not run all the way to Salem, as its symbols implies. The old LOSA rarely
went all the way to Salem to begin with.

I just passed the site on a Keolis inbound. There are approx. 5 cars on the new track at the Wynn site. Didn't see any power.

They're putting them in regular gondola cars, which wasn't what I expected. The ones coming out of Nashua and Orrington are sort of like stacked containers.

The dirt from the Glens Falls NY PCB dredging project all moved in gons... I think the containers out of Nashua are due to the dirt actually being trucked from Milford. Probably cheapest to just load gons onsite versus containerizing it.

Some of it depends where and how it originates. If it loaded directly onto railcar, gons are easier. Also depends where it is to be offloaded. Maine Yankee all moved in capped gons.

Mostly to do with brake slips/tests. If the symbol is SA the brake test is good to there. If the symbol is BO the test dies at Boston if the train is reblocked there. It's always better to symbol the train at the furthest point any blocks would possible go to avoid wasted time.

The PCB sludge out of New Bedford is shipped out in regular gondolas too.

Besides what Newpylong stated, I wonder if SA also covers any rare trips to Salem to forward
cars or rescue BO-1. Or even to be able to go to Wonderland Interlocking in Revere to runaround
cars on the mainline (should it be necessary).

LOSA did not run Friday night.

Not sure of the days it'll work. Looks to be on duty around 630PM-7PM though.

They use regular gons for Orrington too. Mostly CHUX cars these days.

Just passed the site again on a Keolis outbound. There's a total of 20 cars in two cuts - 12 south of the old Monsanto crossing, and 8 north. I could see down into the set of 12, and 11 were filled with dirt but one was filled with wood. The wood looked to be all of uniform lengths and widths, so I'm guessing it was old pilings that used to underpin something on the old site.
