2 tamping machines sitting on the new inbound track this afternoon. They look very close to done. Work crews have deposited stacks full of lengths of new "historically accurate" faux- wrought iron fencing for the reservation. Chain-link temp fence should be coming down soon replaced by the real thing.

Yes, all tracks will shift one position to the "downriver" side. The outbound track is now in it's permanent location, and next the inbound track will shift to where the outbound was for the last phase. Finally, where the inbound track has been during the shoo-fly will be returned to the Boston-bound roadway.

Per ride-by 20 mins ago. . .

Permanent decorative fencing is now installed on roughly half of the inbound-side median. 2-post gaps left every several lengths for what IIRC are going to be the mounts for the new roadway lighting, requiring some electrical work first.

Crews are pouring concrete to join the inbound-side median with the old portal retaining wall, sealing off the old temp track shift. A few more feet awaiting the same pour near the Storrow West overpass; you can temporarily look down into open water because they haven't plugged that gap with rebar yet.

EDIT: Return trip at 3:45 got a better look at the outbound side. Less fencing up, but near the Storrow West overpass they have a couple lengths of reservation fencing up that do have 2 of the roadway lampposts installed, wired, and waiting for fixture installation.
