I took the Silver Meteor (97) from ALX to SAV this weekend (oneway to help my daughter drive home from summer session at college), and our train (which was late leaving NYP) was held at Washington, not for the engine change, but for an engineer who was either riding a late 186 up from (I think) RVR or bringing that train up. Since 186 is due into WAS after 97 is scheduled to depart WAS, I don't think this was normal.
