Just south of Lewisburg Road on the LNE ROW are the remains of what looks like a loading dock and office building for a sizeable shipping facility. I am guessing that this facility was in operation in the steam era, since that’s when there was a lot more business on the line (I.E. the quarries off of Glenwood Junction, New York – see The Midlander publication vol. 3 #4).

In all of the publication for the LNE there is no mention of any business of any kind between Augusta & Sussex. Does anyone have any idea what kind of business this area saw and how much?

I realize you asked this question about 16 years ago but...
The remains that you found near Lewisburg Rd. are from the Lewisburg creamery. It was an Alderney creamery served by the Lehigh and New England railroad. I'm not sure when itt closed, but figure by the 1940's or 50's.
