I see photos of this facility at http://www.trainsarefun.com/lirr/portwa ... ington.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Latest date on them is 9/18/51. Anyone know when it was OOS and the disposition of the building and siding? I rode to Penn from Little Neck as a teenager in the late 60s but don't remember the express house being there.

The last train to carry mail on the Long Island Rail Road was train #37 running from Speonk to Jamaica on June 18, 1965, thus bringing to a close almost 130 years of U. S. Mail service on the L.I.R.R. November 22, 2017
