I found this article and was inspired to make this car. I am looking for Walter to let him know I had artwork done and have decals made for this. I have 5 Westerfield 2750 cars with 1400 box car roofs being made with Bowser PRR Arch bar trucks.

Anyone interested please contact me.

Fascinating article. I have long been interested in which freight cars LIRR once operated. Question I have is, how far afield did they travel with Long Island products, or were they reigned in between NYC and points east?

Facebook group LIRR Model Trains: https://www.facebook.com/groups/273999422645623/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for example.

According to Herb Doscher, LIRR employee in 1926, the following: LIST NRHS Semaphore Articles: LONG ISLAND FREIGHT 1920's ARTICLES by HERB DOSCHER: http://www.trainsarefun.com/lirr/semaph ... aphore.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; 60% down the page. AND at the page bottom: LIRR FREIGHT CAR ROSTER ARTICLES published in 1989-90 (incomplete and author unknown..help anyone?)

To get back to your original query: I have never seen a photo of a LIRR freight car west of the East River, BUT, note that any photos of any LIRR freight cars on the LIRR ROW are very rare/almost non-existent. Here's one: http://www.trainsarefun.com/lirr/lirr%2 ... Huneke.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
