It is a real patch, If I'm not mistaken, they're still on the 'CAM Uniforms'
I don't know of many CAMs that actually request the uniforms but they are entitled to it by union agreement.

Basically navy blue work wear, and the patch i believe is still the same.

Definitely real. Here's an older one. Got it cleaning out someone's toolbox after they retired.

Steve: Interesting LIRR Maintenance of Equipment logo patches.
That "flag" patch dating from the early 2000s makes sense remembering the patriotism of those years.

The one feature making me think that the design dates from earlier years is the use of the two-tone
blue M instead of the MTA "pac-man" logo which was first introduced in 1994.

A related observation is remembering that the LIRR Maintenance of Way once used a pair of those
two-tone blue MTA logos together on equipment in a "M W" manner which was clever for the day.

Perhaps someone might date it further? An interesting collectable, perhaps?
