Absolutely terrific article on the history and economics of the two LIRR Budd cars. This story appears in "The Keystone", journal of the PRR T&HS, Summer Edition.
If you are not a member of the PRRT&HS and a true LIRR afficianado, why not? The subscription is worth twice its cost and the journal alone is worth the price.
