Linwood Yard

Besides me has anyone been to Linwood Yard in Davison County,NC

If you havn't u should it is a very big place.

How would one access Linwood Yard without trespassing? I was recently following the Frograil tour of the Crescent Line from Charlotte to Greensboro. In the reference to Linwood Yard it discourages you from taking the road to the yard as this is railroad property.

I took their suggestion and set up just NE of the yard and caught a few trains within 1 1/2 hours. They do come up fast and quiet. Here is one:



Saw your other post about Salisbury. The same morning I caught the Carolinian heading for NY.

I haven't been to your yard, but we send and receive some freight to/and from that area. 155/156

That's the yard I work out of, and you're right, it is a good size yard. You can't really view it though without trespassing unfortunately for the railfans.
