Does anybody know any Lackawanna Railroad passenger cars, freight cars, cabooses and diesels that survived? If you do, can you give me the type of equipment, number and location? I live near Steamtown, so I got all the stuff up there. I got some information from other museum and tourist lines websites. Any information that I get, I'll will appreciate it.

Thanks

Here are the passenger cars I know of:

Coach 318 - (RPCX 1318) owned by EL Equipment Leasing LLC, at Midwest Locomotive in Kansas City, MO, being restored as either 318 or EL 1318.

Diner 469 - owned by Memphis Transportation Museum, Colliersville, TN.
Diner 470 - (DL 470) owned by ELDCPS, at Midwest Locomotive in Kansas City, MO, being restored as DL&W 470.

Tavern Lounge 789 - (MN1) owned by Metro North.
Tavern Lounge 790 - (MN2) owned by Metro North.

I believe all three office cars (97,98,99) exist but someone else will have to fill in where they are now.

There is a DL&W boxcar and an Erie boxcar on landlocked tracks in the Elmira yards.

DL&W #475xxx boxcar "Route of the Phoebe Snow" was landlocked in Fulton NY several years ago. You could still read the slogan.

Lackawanna565, what are you doing with this information? Book? Personal info? It might help us answer your question if we knew what you needed the info for... there's a LOT of equipment to list.

What ever happened to the MU car #3500 and #4600? I read in an old magazine from the early 1980's that NJT was supposed to set them aside in a permeanant state collection. Do these 2 cars it still survive or were they scrapped??

Would love to know what happened to the original poster... oh well.

We have a Lackawanna baggage car and a Lackawanna MU at our museum in Rochester.

I hear a DLW 40ft box was recently saved (could it be the one trapped in Elmira) by GVT?
