The International Railway Journal has a news item from 27 July (2004) that the KTX had 7 million riders in its first 100 days of operation. Accordinng to the item...
"The majority, 5.93 million passengers, were carried between Seoul and Busan. According to Alstom, which equipped the KTX, punctuality has improved from 97.6% in April to 98.56% in July."
I hope things continue to bode well for the line.
