I recently got back from Italy, where the only current high-speed
rail line is Florence-Rome. HOWEVER, a fellow passenger informed
me that Rome-Naples was fully-graded and built, needing only catenary,
signals and tracks. Any ideas when this line will be open to service?
The engineer at Florence informed me that top speed Florence-Rome
was about 150 miles per hour.
