If I may add another comment:

First, a seemingly off topic bit of background: In the 1990's, the Ford Taurus was availabe with a 182 CID V6 rated at 140 hp, or a 232 CID V6, also at 140 hp. The difference is that the larger engine produced higher torque for better pulling power at low speed and for passing and developed maximum power at a lwoer engine speed for lower engine wear.

Geting to the point, there is always both speed and power components to horsepower and some engines are biased toward power, or TE, while others are meant to run at higher speeds with lower raw pulling power.
