has anyone heard of a new alabama shortline called three notch railroad? saw it mentioned online but not much is said about this new railroad of gulf & ohio railway system, except that it operates 34 miles of former alabama & florida railway track from georgiana alabama to andalusia, alabama. i would like to know how many locomotives it has, what customers it serves and what products does it haul.

The Three Notch RR:

Has 5 locomotives:

2728, 2821, 2886 = 2,000 hp EMD GP38 (2821 and 2886 are x NS units)

3872 = 1,750 hp EMD GP9

9702 = 3,000 hp EMD GP40 (possibly a former CSX M of W "pumpkin" unit)

Traffic commodities include pulpwood, peanuts (including processed meats and oils), chemicals, plastic, grains, fertlizers, and scrap metals.

Take care and best wishes.
