Interesting shot. Leaving a station, car marker just by the train, so the station is behind the photographer. They've shifted the tracks and the old tracks has a siding just clear of the crossing. Looks like a undergrade bridge in the distance, maybe for a parkway? Looks like a spot where they are starting one of the elevation projects, so what was getting elevated in that time frame? Maybe looking west from Wantagh?

Krispy, I believe is on the right track. However, I think we are looking west from the temporary platform at Seaford.

Looking west at Birch Street, Amityville.
Everyone: I will second LB - This 11/1968 location is the west end of the temporary Amityville Station...
The buildings north of the temporary tracks and the Sunrise Highway overpass girders distant are tip-offs...

The temporary tracks constructed for the new stations and grade crossing elimination project at Amityville,
Copaigue and Lindenhurst (completed August 1973) were north of the then-existing tracks...Other projects
constructed during that era (Wantagh-Seaford previously, Merrick-Bellmore and Massapequa Park later)
had temporary tracks and stations on the south side adjacent to Sunrise Highway...MACTRAXX
