You could begin by looking at the John Barriger photographs at the link below. There are a number of them west of Poughkeepsie and most, if not all, are identified as to location. Some were taken in the late 50's or early 60's and some in the 1930's. Rich Stoving has a book out on the Hudson Division, Power Along the Hudson, and if I recall there is a photograph of a train taking water at the Tivoli pans in that.

The pans at Tivoli were covered in MR magazine gentleman last name of Roman has a scale model on NYCRR the story was late last year I believe. As for the pans If you looking south the river is on your right the water tank and pump house/boiler room on your left. There would be a trailing point switch off track 3 to the siding which had a slight upgrade to the coal hopper. All brick buildings and a steel water tank which sat close to the ground.
