Hornell gets grant money for Shawmut Trail

It was announced today that a grant (one of many) was awarded to Hornell for a couple of projects.

One was called the Shawmut Trail.

Does anybody know anything more about this project ??

What was the source of the funds ?? State ?? Federal ??

Shawmut trail is a short little rail-trail in Hornell that is behind the Wegmans on the other side of the river in a park. Its at the site of the old Pittsburg Shawmut and Northern yard and their roadbed. It paralells the NS main (old buffalo extention of the Erie main) and is seperated by perhaps 50 feet. Its a fairly undeveloped park, its where the city stores their skatepark and its kids (not all kids now days) and at one time at least they had a middle ages faire out there in the fall.
