I've lived near this bridge all my life, and the tracks that run on it were literally no more then 50 feet from the house I grew up in, which is down the street from this bridge.

Does anyone know where I can find some information about it? When it was built, who built it, etc.

Your link brings up a generic search. You may need to create a file and post that.

The link defaults to http://maps.live.com/

I use SAFARI on Mac OS 10 Tiger.

If you use Krewstown Rd. & Algon Ave. in the search you'll find the it.

That certain bridge carries the Reading's New York Short Line over Pennypack Creek in Philadelphia. The Short Line was leased to the Reading upon completion in 1906; it was formally absorbed in 1924. The 9 mile line between Cheltenham Jct. on the Newtown Branch and Neshaminy Falls on the New York Branch was constructed to bypass the grades and congestion of the route via Jenkintown.

Live Maps doesn't like OS X. It's never worked for me on my laptop.

The bridge looks as if it can support two tracks. Was the line ever double tracked?

I'm also looking for more detail about the bridge itself, I have plenty of information about the line. Although, more information would always be welcomed.

New York Short Line was double track until ConRail worked it over in the late 1980s.
