Was trackside most of the weekend and saw plenty of BNSF, one oil train with a CP-NS combo, one HLCX leaser, and one train with five UP units went west. Oh, and one of the Amtrak heritage units went by eastbound on Sunday.

Is there a heads up for west out of Buffalo?

Around 5:30 tonight just west of Syracuse, I saw MEC GP40-2W 513, a hulk on a flatcar buried mid-train, heading west. I guess it's been loaded on the same flat for more than a year, so a web search can probably turn up the car number. Possibly headed for Paducah, KY and HELM for rebuild.

Currently working it's north on the Riverline, CSX K637 has a DME SD40-2, CP SD60 & NS SD60E for power. Also the next 2 K683's (within a few days a part) have former Southern Pacific's AC4400CW's. Will give you update when I get one!

CSX K63702 with DME SD40-2 6089, CP SD60 6255 & NS SD60E 6987, has departed Selkirk NY this morning at 0653 hours heading Westbound to Buffalo, NY. By the look of things, this train maybe through Rochester area in the afternoon! I'm going to try get out and see this train! Good luck for others who will too!

Doesn't deal with CSX, BUT! It's still cool to report about! Amtrak 281 (Empire Service) has a B32-8WH, #512 leading a P32 700 series engine. Up here a B32-8WH is consider as rare, especially when leading! Last spotted entering Syracuse for a 4:15 pm arrival at the station. It'll be dark once it reaches Rochester. But I have a funny feeling that it might just stay around for a bit.

NS 1074, the DL&W heritage unit, is in town..
She was in the lead on a CSX train Eastbound through the darkness last night, from Buffalo to Selkirk.
This morning, Friday 11/27, she is out near Selkirk.

based on her train number, K048, I believe she will probably run down the Westshore, south down the Hudson River, later today.
even though its too late for us Western New Yorker's, im still posting this anyway for the benefit of the Eastern New Yorkers! ;)

On September 21st, I was in Buffalo, NY with my friends. CSX G057 was the first train of the day, with UP C45AC, UP SD70ACe, UP SD70M, & KCS SD70MAC. The KCS caught my eye. I really don't care about UP. LOL!
