I remember in the first few years after the 1999 Conrail split, a few GP38’s were repainted in Conrail Quality paint but with the new PRR(NS) numbers including the Spirit of Conrail for their 25th anniversary. What paint shop painted those units? I’m surprised they were painted that way and not in NS black. I was also curious why only the few NS units got painted that way and none for CSX.
