What was the last production unit for the GP-9? What was the first GP-18? Were the first GP-18's actually ordered as GP-9's?

There are a few web sites that has EMD Serial numbers listed They can help you research your question. You will find your answer there.

The last GP9 was Algoma Central 172, built in 1963
