Even though this thread is stickied, I forgot about it...oops! I even posted to it about a year ago. There are a lot of great photos hidden in all of those links. Anyway, as per my previous post, check my sig. for my train photos. I also recently started a Flickr acct. for my non-RR photos if anyone is interested. There are a few duplicate RR photos in there from either of the other 2 sites, but they are more abstract shots, instead of the traditional wedge/pano.

Like I said, it is a new acct. and I have more to add. I just need to stay home long enough to get them and work'em up a bit before posting, so check back here in the next few days.

PS: How do you get a cool Flickr address like Ottomatic, Joe the Photog, etc.? Is it a difference between pay acct. vs. free?

I actually run 5 photo sites. A lot of people already know about the first three, but I've recently set up two new ones for model trains and virtual trains (trainz/train simulator and such):

http://naphotos.nerail.org/ - The NERAIL North American Railroad Photo Archive (150,000+ photos currently)
http://photos.nerail.org/ - The NERAIL New England Railroad Photo Archive (almost 100,000 photos)
http://transit.nerail.org/ - The NERAIL Transit Photo Archive (6,000 photos)
http://photos.modelrails.net/ - Model Railroad and Toy Train Photos (1,000 photos)
http://photos.digitalrails.net/ - Virtual Railroad Screenshots and Digital Railroad Art (just started!)

Please visit today, you can post your own photos, and of course all 5 sites are completely free to use.

I'm always looking for suggestions on how to improve the sites, and am planning on adding new features like photo comments soon.

Enjoy!

I've been snapping pictures of stations on train rides I've taken with my kids over the last 18 months or so. They were taken with a basic pocket camera, not cropped/fixed, and most were taken from the inside of a train through sometimes dirty windows, so they aren't exactly magazine quality, but I like them. They're located at http://community.webshots.com/user/usro ... y&start=42 (scroll towards the bottom of the page).

Areas covered so far are:

Metro-North (east of Hudson) -
Hudson Line (plus Amtrak to Albany-Rensselear)
Harlem Line (including former stations/locations up to Chatham)
New Haven Line (plus Shore Line East and Hells Gate Bridge)

LIRR -
Port Washington Branch
Main Line (to Jamaica with Port Jefferson, Oyster Bay, Hempstead, and Belmont Branches)
Montauk Branch (to Jamaica with Babylon, Long Beach, West Hempstead, and Far Rockaway Branches)
City Terminal Zone

NJ Transit -
Main and Bergen County Lines (and Metro-North Port Jervis Line)
Pascack Valley Line (and Meadowlands)
Morris & Essex and Montclair-Boonton Lines
Raritan Valley Line
North Jersey Coast Line
Atlantic City Line
River LINE

Amtrak -
Ethan Allen Express (to Schenectady)

Staten Island Railway
Music City STAR (Nashville)
Kenosha Electric Railway (Wisconsin)
TECO Line Streetcar System (Tampa on a dark rainy afternoon)
Beijing Suburban Railway Line S2
Beijing - Tianjin High Speed Rail (plus older route between Tanggu and Beijing)
Beijing Subway (Lines 8, 13, & Batong)

I've posted this before on a few threads, but if you haven't been there, this is my collection so far, dating from 1969-present. Rail, transit, and museum sections, a good 2000 pictures:
