Hey Guys,

Took my son to the Yard today although we had a great time looking around while we were there, there wasn't much action. Is there a time of day that is better then others to see some switching or watch CP Rail or CSX come in?

the csx trains are usually departing around 8.30-9.30 on the bronks side, but that can vary depending on problems w/ the power or cars. safety x3 next to Amtrak. the interchange work for them happens around noon.
D&H (what we still call the C.P. train) comes down and leaves at night, though they do some switching at F.P. during the day. you might not be able to get a good picture of them 'till later this spring/summer when it gets dark later. P&W will be coming down w/ stone trains again then too
N.Y&A is allways moving around down below, between the east and west yards.
access up there seems very limited, and for r.r. people only. where are you viewing from?

Thank you very much for your input..it will def help with our next visit there. To be honest since it was our first time there , we stayed mainly on Otto Rd which didn't give the best viewing but didn't want to tresspass either....
