Where and when can the NECR be caught in CT during the week. Specifically in the next 6 days or so. What are some good spots to catch them?
Thanks,
Nick

Yep, scanner will help out with the NECR. But typically, you want to stick to Route 32 through CT - the road roughly parallels the main all the way from Palmer to New London. Tons of spots along the way, with many right from 32. Timing right now is this:

602 leaves Palmer around 4-5am
Crew change happens sometime after that, when 608's crew takes over and runs the train south. They're usually into New London around noon or so.
As they head north, they're recrewed at about 5pm, usually around Norwich, by the 610 crew.
610 takes the train north from there.

All along the way, all crews do some switching (Monson, Willimantic, Franklin, Norwich, Montville, Waterford & New London).

All this happens typically M-F. Sat & Sun they run extras, sometimes all the way to New London, and sometimes only as far as Franklin. Of course, all is subject to change. I think it was last week the southbound job didn't leave Palmer until 4pm or so...

Good luck!
