150 30 year old mark 3 british rail coaches will be scrapped , becasue they dont fit into cureent operating practices in the UK . ( mainly dmu/emu operation ). Obviuosly a chance for for some rail system to expand thier fleet cheaply . New Zealand brought 68 of the surplus Mark 2 carriages , and have convetred some of them for narrow gauge operation .
Canda , australia come to mind , as they already have British based equipment . Unfrotunately USA would be ruled out because of thier FRA requirements .
