Just wondering if anybody has ever gone to the galesburg railroad days, and was wondering since i live about 4 hours away, would you recommend the long trip to go their or is it a waste of time in your opinion, by the way, what is there besides the on track displays and yard tours, such as whats at the carnival that ive heard of as well.
also during the tour if anyone knows, what will i experience, and the on track displays, what type of locomotives will be displayed?
thank you!

Try visiting www.galesburgrailroaddays.org in a couple of weeks. Currently, there is no information on this website for the 2010. Even if you decide not to come down for Railroad Days, the "Burg" definitely a great place for railfanning and is worth a four hour drive.

It is worth the trip. A lot of activity to see. This may be your only opportunity to tour the yard.

Some years the Nebraska Zephyr from the IRM is part of the display.

Bring plenty of money & a camera! The Train Show is one of the better ones.
