I missed this when it was announced last month, but this operation manufactures and constructs mid-sized and modular high-rise buildings and it's moving to Hamden, Connecticut--a state with a housing shortage that the rich towns don't want solved, so there's that irony.

But more to our interests, apparently access to the Gateway Terminal port in New Haven is part of the deal. While there's a siding next to the property on Edmunds St., it splits from track 1 of the New Haven-Springfield Line near the coaling tower at Cedar Hill. I can't see any way to get from there to the Belle Dock Running Track to the port. Not enough crossovers at present. Maybe wishful thinking on someone's part? Or will construction materials be moving from the port to Hamden?
