Free rides for the military

As was done last year, VIA Rail is offering free travel to members and veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces in Comfort (economy) Class anywhere in Canada during the month of July. Qualifying personnel can also receive 50% off on VIA1 and sleeper class fares during the same period.

Don't know if this is still in effect, but American Military personnel, in uniform, fly US airlines at the military half fare rate. Last time I flew United Airlines I flew that way. Of course they also can fly military aircraft as a "hop" and that is complimentary.
