Fort Rome live steam train?

While I suppose it is old news at this point that the Erie Canal Village is closed and not likely to open soon, when looking at online maps of the area recently I noticed that the track is gone. Apparently, it was removed sometime between 2014 and the present. Anyone know where the track, and the trains, might have gone to?

Presumably Railstar has the equipment; IIRC they're based in Watertown or somewhere in the north country.

I picked up today an old flyer for Rome NY "City of American History" which has the 2-6-2 right on the cover.

Inside, a paper flyer tells how Edward Nolan designed and built the engine in 1937, then when he donated it to the Historic Rome Development Authority he rebuilt it. A second paragraph tells how it was built in Pulaski along with the tender, four cars and caboose. It goes on to say he also gave them a General Electric U33B engine (!) as a backup plus some small work cars.

Flyer appears to date from 1975 as it advises rides will open May 1 1976. I can probably scan and post it, given the group is defunct I doubt there's anyone to worry about the photos.

I live just up the road from the museum. Sadly, it appears to be closed permanently. The buildings are in poor shape, and museum's historic artifacts stored in these buildings could not be removed because of some red tape. As of last summer, I guess that they have since been removed and preserved. The last I recall the train running was 2013 when I snapped the below photo. It appears that the tracks are still there, just heavily overgrown. I drive by almost daily, and would have noticed if the tracks were being pulled. The station is the New York Central Station from McConnellsville. I was told it was moved in 1974. I have some pictures of me on the train from the early 1980's, that I will post if I can find them. Also have a few postcards from the 1970's of the train and station as I remember it from my childhood. Waiting for them in the mail. Will post when they arrive.
